Things to Consider When Choosing Your Wedding Invitation Suite
Choosing a wedding invitation suite can be overwhelming with so many options available. To make the decision easier, consider the following considerations:
– I –
aesthetic
Your wedding invitation suite should complement the overall theme and style of your wedding. If you're planning a formal affair, opt for an elegant and classic suite. For a garden or outdoor wedding, go for a romantic or whimsical suite. Make sure your invitations align with the ambiance you want to create on your special day.
– Ii –
Consider your budget
Wedding invitations come in a wide range of prices, so it's important to determine your budget before starting the ordering process. Traditionally, couples spend 3-7% of their entire wedding budget on stationery. Remember to include costs such as postage, envelopes, and any extra embellishments you might want to add.
– Iii –
timeline
We recommend ordering at least 1-2 months before you need your invitations in hand. Most couples mail invitations 2-3 months in advance of their event or at least six months in advance for a destination wedding. Take into account the time it takes to proof, print, and assemble your invitations when setting your timeline.
– vi –
number of guests
Determine the number of invitations you need based on your guest list. Count by households, not by number of guests to avoid ordering too many wedding invitations. It's always a good idea to order a few extra invitations in case of any last-minute additions or for any mail that is sent to an invalid address.
– v –
Personalize
Consider the level of personalization you want for your wedding invitation suite to make it uniquely yours. We can add a custom monogram or wedding crest to any wedding invitation design. For an even more personal touch, add a custom wedding venue illustration, silk ribbon, or explore our line of embellishments here.
Custom Options for Your Wedding Invitation Suite
We understand that every wedding is unique. We offer a variety of customization options to make your suite truly unique.
-
We offer two types of silk ribbon–handmade and woven edge. Our handmade ribbon (shown above) has more of an organic feel with its frayed edges and can add a hint of romance to your wedding invitations.
Optionally, our woven silk ribbon has a clean and polished look, perfect for a classic look.
-
Wax seals are a client favorite! We have a wide variety of colors and design options to compliment your wedding invitation suite.
Add them to the back flap of your envelopes or pair them with a vellum wrap for an unforgettable look.
-
Add a custom wedding venue illustration to any invitation suite or choose to have your venue printed on a details card, response card, envelope liner, wedding program, etc. This adds such a beautiful, sentimental touch to you stationery.
Things to Consider for When to Order Your Wedding Invitations
Figuring out when to order your wedding invitation suite involves considering several factors. First, decide on what embellishment options are most important to you and which print method you want for your invitations. Whether you prefer classic digital printing for more affordable elegance or high-end options such as letterpress printing or custom venue drawings, your choice will influence the time needed for production. Tap the + icon to learn more about each option.
-
If you choose digital printing, the ordering process may be quicker, with a production turnaround time of 2 weeks after all proofs are approved.
Our couples love upgrading their digitally printed wedding invitations to double thick paper to give them more of a high-end feel.

-
Our couples love using letterpress or foil printing for their suite!
Order letterpress or foil invitations at least two months in advance of when you need them in hand (or sooner). Each piece is printed by hand, so production takes four weeks to complete.
This allows for design time, revisions, and printing.

-
Lastly, it's important to factor in any additional elements you may want to include with your invitations, such as handmade paper, silk ribbon, or venue drawings.
These extras require additional time for production and assembly.
For the following custom options, order wedding invitations at least 3 months before you need them in hand: venue drawings, white glove assembly, vintage postage and mailing, handmade silk ribbon, or handmade paper.
